Accessibility

Many of the people we help are older or find computers hard work, so an accessible website is not an extra for us. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA for every page on getmendaro.com, including checkout and booking.

• Color contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 for text and 3 to 1 for large text and controls.
• Every image has a text alternative, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
• Headings, landmarks and lists are marked up so screen readers can navigate the page.
• Forms have visible labels and clear error messages.
• Motion is reduced when your system asks for it.

Body text is 18 pixels by default, larger than most websites, in fonts chosen for legibility. The site uses your browser's zoom and text-size settings: at 200 percent everything still fits and nothing overlaps or gets cut off. To zoom, press Ctrl and plus on Windows or Cmd and plus on a Mac.

• Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached with Tab and activated with Enter or Space.
• The element that has focus is always shown with a visible blue outline.
• Menus and expandable questions can be opened and closed from the keyboard.
• There are no keyboard traps: Tab always moves on and Escape closes anything that opened.

If you find the website hard to use, you do not have to use it to get help. Email hello@getmendaro.com and we will book your session for you and send the link. During a session our expert explains each step aloud, and you can ask them to slow down, repeat anything, or type instead of talk.

We test with a keyboard, with a screen reader, and at high zoom before each release, but we will not catch everything. If you find a page that does not work for you, email hello@getmendaro.com with the page address and what happened. We reply within 2 business days and fix confirmed problems as a priority.
